Anti-Israel operation boosted Iran’s diplomatic leverage: FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says drone and missile attacks carried out by the Iranian armed forces last week against the Israeli regime created more capacities for the Iranian diplomatic apparatus in the field of regional and international relations.

Amirabdollahian said in a letter addressed to senior commanders of the Iranian armed forces on Monday that the 'Operation True Promise' also redefined the balance of power in the West Asia region.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force launched more than 300 drones and missiles on targets in the Israeli-occupied Palestine in the early hours of Sunday.

The attack came in response to an airstrike carried out by the Israeli regime in early April on an Iranian consulate in Syria which killed senior IRGC military commanders.

Amirabdollahian said in his message that the attacks on Israel boosted the sense of patriotism and national pride among the Iranians, adding that they were a show of deterrence from the Iranian armed forces.

He said the IRGC operation had complied with international regulations, adding that it was also a response to “evil actions” of the Israeli regime in the region.
