Army chief vows 'stormy' response to any aggression against Iran

Iranian Army Chief Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi has warned that Iran is prepared to deliver a "stormy and united" response to any form of aggression against the nation.

In a statement to mark the National Army Day on Monday, Mousavi emphasized the formidable defensive and deterrence power of Iran's Armed Forces.

The message came two days after the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched a volley of missiles and drones towards the Israeli occupied territories in retaliation for a deadly attack on Iran's diplomatic premises in Syria early this month.

The unprecedented airstrike, dubbed Operation True Promise, sent the Israeli officials into a frenzied debate on whether and how to respond.

General Mousavi said Iran's operation against the Israeli regime demonstrated only a fraction of the resolve and capability of the Iranian Armed Forces.

The operation was "a decisive response to the blatant aggression" by the Zionist enemy and brought joy to the oppressed nations, especially the resilient people of Palestine and Gaza, the commander said.
