Iranian demonstrators participating in the International Quds Day rallies in Tehran strongly condemned the Zionist occupation of the holy Quds, and meantime warned against foreign meddling in Syria, saying that an end to foreign interference is the sole solution to the current crisis in the Muslim state.

In a final statement issued at the end of rallies on the occasion of the Quds Day here in Tehran today, Iranian people said that current crisis in Syria is a joint plot by hegemonic powers and Arab reactionary regimes to break the Islamic resistance in the region and the front against the Zionist regime.

"The solution to the current status in Syria is an end to foreign and hegemonic states' meddling in the country's internal affairs and not options which will lead to military intervention," the statement said.

"We warn them that if they refuse to end their scenario against Syria and resistance, they will fall into a quagmire in Syria from which they will find no way out," the statement underscored.

The Iranian demonstrators further voiced their all-out support for the Palestinian people and their causes.

They also voiced support for popular uprisings in the region, and condemned suppression of protesting people in Bahrain by the Al Khalifa regime.

Millions of Iranians staged massive rallies in Tehran and other cities on Friday to condemn continued occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime and show strong support for Palestinians against Israel on the International Quds Day.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in August 1979 declared the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as Quds Day, calling for international rallies in support of Palestinians and against Israel.
