Abbasi firmly rejected claims made by Western media on Wednesday, saying that inspections conducted at the plant had to do with the transfer of the responsibility for running the plant from the Russians to the Iranians.
The Iranian official added that technical tests must be properly repeated to ascertain the safety of the power plant.
Referring to upcoming talks between Iran and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Abbasi said negotiations would be held in Tehran over the issue of alleged studies.
Iran and the IAEA have held several rounds of talks over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. Upcoming talks are due be held on December 13.
The United States, Israel and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Iran argues that as a signatory to Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the IAEA, it is entitled to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
The IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities, but has never found any evidence indicating diversion in Tehran's nuclear energy program toward military purposes.
