Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani says the nuclear Agreement between Tehran and the Sextet of powers must ensure the Islamic Republic’s nuclear rights and lead to the removal of sanctions.

In a televised interview in the central Iranian city of Qom on Sunday night, Larijani noted that Tehran considers the nuclear agreement as an interim condition not a permanent objective and said,

“Iran’s expectation from that (the nuclear deal) is maintaining the peaceful nuclear technology and removal of the oppressive sanctions.”

Larijani said “the agreement has naturally calmed the international conditions and the atmosphere which is why the Zionist regime (Israel)” is upset because the regime wants Iran to be in a crisis-ridden zone.

On November 24, Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council - Russia, China, France, Britain and the US - plus Germany sealed an interim deal in the Swiss city of Geneva to lay the groundwork for the full resolution of the dispute between the West and Iran over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program.

In exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities, the six countries agreed to lift some of the existing sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
