Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stressed that enemies were focusing on triggering civil wars in the region.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks here Saturday morning on the anniversary occasion of Haft-e Tir (July 28) when he received families of martyrs who lost their lives this day 33 years ago in a bomb blast by the terrorist Mojahedeen-e Khalq Organization.

 

The then chief justice Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti alongside with 72 other senior officials were martyred in the blast.

 

Addressing the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the enemies were investing on internal conflicts.

 

He said they were pining hope on Shiite-Sunni wars to overshadow the Islamic Awakening in the region.

 

The Ayatollah stressed that a remaining bunch of culprits affiliated to Saddam regime alongshide a group of ignorant people were currently indulging in crimes in Iraq.

 

The Supreme Leader underlined that what was going on now was not a war between the Sunnis and the Shiites but a war between terrorism and anti-terrorism.

 

He said this was also a conflict between the lovers of West and those who were seeking independence for nations.
