In a meeting with UN Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos in Tehran on Sunday, Iran's top diplomat Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed the necessity of regional cooperation to pave the ground for sending and distributing humanitarian aid to the affected people in Syria and Iraq.
Zarif also highlighted the need for relief aid delivery to defenseless people in the Gaza Strip amid the Israeli regime’s latest onslaught on the blockaded enclave.
Iran has always been pioneer among regional countries in sending humanitarian aid consignments to Iraqi, Syrian, Gazan displaced people regardless of their religion, sect and race.
According to latest reports, Iran’s humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip are currently awaiting permission to be dispatched to the war-stricken enclave through the Rafah border crossing.
