sident Hassan Rouhani said exchange of views and cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad will help resolve regional problems.

In a meeting with the former Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari here on Tuesday, he said Iran has always favored good relations with Pakistan in all possible areas.

 

As a victim of terrorist acts, Pakistan should conduct serious campaign against the root causes of violence and extremism, he added.

 

Zardari said good neighborly ties between Iran and Paksitan will bring peace, stability and security to the entire region.

 

Referring to the many steps Pakistan has taken in recent years towards the real democracy, he further praised President's Rouhani's remarks on a world free of violence and extremism.

 

Zardari is in Tehran to attend the international gathering on World Against Violence and Extremism.

 

President Rouhani inaugurated the international WAVE conference this morning.

 

Experts and scholars from 40 countries are participating in the event.

 

The first conference on World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) is being held here on December 9-10, a year after the UN General Assembly adopted President Rouhani's proposal calling for the 'World Against Violence and Extremism'.
