Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kan'ani on Wednesday offered condolences to the Ukrainian people and government over the death of several people in the helicopter crash.

The senior Iranian diplomat also wished speedy recovery for the injured.

On Wednesday, the head of the Kyiv regional military administration Oleksiy Kuleba said that a helicopter had crashed in Brovary near a kindergarten and residential buildings.

"A total of 16 people are dead, two of them children. Nine of them were on board the helicopter. Another 22 victims are in hospital, 10 of which are children," the police, in turn, said on Telegram.

The police added that Ukrainian Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky and his first deputy Yevgeny Enin were killed in the accident.
