Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami has said that one of the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had mistakenly reported changes in the Fordow enrichment facility, and the IAEA’s stance on Iran is regrettable.

Eslami made the remarks on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 53rd specialized exhibition of the achievements of the nuclear industry of Iran on Thursday, saying that one of the inspectors of the IAEA mistakenly reported that the Islamic Republic changed the method of utilization at the Ali Mohammadi Facility (Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant (FFEP), while the country did not declare the alteration earlier.

The IAEA’s stance is regrettable, he said, arguing that the reports on no country should be publicized instantly, and that the interpretation of the inspector’s inspection of Fordow was incorrect, but the inspector reported it immediately and we presented our explanations rapidly.

Former inspectors inspected the facility and following explanations by Iran, the mentioned inspector found out he made a mistake; so, the problem was resolved after they coordinated the issue with the secretariat of the IAEA, the Iranian official said, adding that the AEOI’s safeguard office sent a letter in response to the previous note of the IAEA today.

On the establishment of the AEOI, he noted that the organization was set up after the victory of the Islamic Revolution; thus, I name the organization as the child of the Islamic Revolution.

The administration of President Ebrahim Raisi has prepared a strategic document in order to propose the 20-year outlook of the nuclear industry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Eslami noted.
