The World Steel Association (worldsteel) in its latest report has announced that Iran had produced some 3.2 million metric tons (mt) of crude steel in June 2023, a 17.4% increase compared to the same month of 2022.

The world steel figures covered in a Sunday report by the IRNA showed that Iran’s crude steel production in January-June had increased by 4.8% compared to the same period in 2022.

The report has said a total of 158.8 million mt of crude steel had been produced by 63 steel-manufacturing countries in the world in June, a decrease of 0.1% compared to the same month last year.

According to the worldsteel figures, Iran was the seventh largest steel producer in the world in June.
