Two Iranian wrestlers, Hassan Yazdani and Amir-Hossein Zare, have secured their spots in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, by advancing to the final matches of the world competitions held in Serbia.

Yazdani, competing in the Men’s 86kg category, and Zare, in the 125kg category, are set to vie for the championship title at the 2023 Belgrade World Championships in Serbia.

On the first day of the world competitions on September 16, three out of four Iranian freestyle wrestlers, namely Amir-Mohammad Yazdani, Hassan Yazdani, and Amir-Hossein Zare, made it to the final matches.

However, Reza Atri, competing in Men’s 61kg, was unable to join his teammates after being defeated by a Japanese wrestler.

The highlight of these matches is the highly anticipated final between Iran’s Hassan Yazdani and David Taylor from the US, scheduled for September 17.
