Iran and Oman have signed a document to expand cooperation on communication infrastructures, information technology, post, and post bank.

The document was signed on Thursday by Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology Issa Zarepour and his Omani counterpart Saeed bin Hamoud bin Saeed al Maawali in Muscat, the capital of the Arab country.

It calls for accelerating the postal process, investing in setting up data centers, offering electronic services, and improving the quality of communication infrastructures, among others.

The document was signed a day after the two ministers discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation and follows a memorandum of understanding the two sides inked in that regard in Tehran in May 2023.

Zarepour began his two-day visit to Oman on Wednesday at the head of a delegation comprising deputies and officials of the organizations affiliated to his ministry
