Iran’s economy grew by 7.1% year on year in the quarter to late September 2022, says the economic spokesman of the Iranian administration.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Ehsan Khandouzi further said the country’s economy minus its oil sector saw a 4.2% growth during the same period.

“Also, the unemployment rate this summer was 9%, marking its lowest level in the last four decades,” he said.

He pointed out that the administration succeeded in curbing inflation this year, with the point-to-point consumer inflation rate decreasing from 55% in April to 39% in November.

Khandouzi also reported an 8% growth in the industry and mining sector in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (starting on March 21) compared to 5.2% during the same period in the previous year.

All indicators show growth during the eight seasons of the current administration, he added.
