Commander of the Iranian Army’s Naval Force, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, says that Iran successfully participated in the BRICS international naval drill.

During a ceremony in Nowshahr, a northern city in Iran, on Friday Rear Admiral Irani said that Iran’s successful participation in the BRICS international naval drill resulted from the hard work of the naval forces and the teams from Nowshahr Maritime University.

He highlighted the impressive performance of Iranian university teams in the exercise, noting that despite having limited equipment and fewer personnel, they achieved top rankings in specialized events while competing against countries such as China, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, proudly raising Iran’s flag.

The commander added, “Just like during the eight years of the Sacred Defense (the Iraq-imposed war against Iran from 1980 to 1988), our naval forces continue to fulfill the country’s critical economic and security missions with strength and dedication. We take pride in the fact that the products and equipment used are entirely Iranian and align with our national naval strategies and methods.”
