According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, Hamidullah Fitrat, deputy spokesperson of the Taliban administration, said in response to comments by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that Kabul is making efforts across all areas to build an atmosphere of trust between Afghanistan and Iran. He emphasized that resolving border-related issues and enhancing joint cooperation are among the Taliban government’s top priorities.
Earlier, during a visit to South Khorasan Province, President Pezeshkian said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is seeking to accelerate and facilitate communication and interactions between Tehran and Kabul, especially in border areas. His remarks were met with a positive response from Taliban officials.
Observers say the mutual emphasis on easing border relations and expanding engagement may signal a shared willingness to reduce tensions and move toward more practical cooperation in political, security, and economic fields.
