Speaking to the Lebanese al Balad newspaper on Sunday, Head of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi stressed that all Arab countries should have clear policies towards Iraq, and said that Iraq's security and reconstruction require cooperation of all the regional states.
"We as Iraq's neighbors have to accept and respect its reality, Iraq is an independent country and it's a mistake for us to seek Iraq's formation based on our views." added Boroujerdi, referring to Iraq's problems.
Iran and Iraq have enjoyed growing ties ever since the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, during the 2003 US invasion of the Muslim country.
