The Iranian Oil Ministry has devised a special plan to boost gas exports as of 2015, Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said.

Speaking at a ceremony held to introduce the new head of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh stressed the importance of developing South Pars gas field’s phases adding gas transfer network of the country should also be expanded so that facilitate interconnection between gas pipelines across the country in a bid to cover each other needs if necessary.

Zanganeh said that structural hurdles in the way of gas storage should be removed so that gas storage capacities to rise and guarantee sustainability of gas delivery in the network. he expressed hope breakthroughs in this regard in near future.

Elsewhere in his remarks Zanganeh underscored the importance of exanding CNG stations across the country.

'‘If we raise CNG consumption by 30 million cubic meters per day it will save gasoline consumption considerably that will be great advantage for the country,'' Zanganeh told the meeting.

He praised past achievements in gas processing plants adding the country gas processing plants should be run according to the highest standards of the world.

He also called for improving natural gas services to the people stating natural gas should take the place of liquid fuels in power plants and industries.

'‘Financial problems will not deter us from advancing the plans. we will overcome the problems through innovative moves to accelerate the pace of implementation of the projects," the minister concluded.

Early this week, Zanganeh appointed Hamid Reza Araqi as the managing director of National Iranian Gas Company(NIGC) to take the place of Javad Oji.

He also named named Abbas Sheri Moqqadam as managing director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and Roknodding Javadi as NIOC top executive who substituted Ahamd Qalebani whom Zanganeh thanked for his services during his tenure as NIOC’s managing director.
