The uncalculated comments by the US president about Iran emanate from his business-like approach toward foreign policy, said the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council on Thursday.

Ali Shamkhani, speaking in the margin of a ceremony in Shalamcheh in southwestern Iran, denounced President Donald Trump for his lack of political experience and inability to analyze issues and his efforts to portray Iran as a troublemaker in the region.

'Iran's principled policies are source of stability and security in the Middle East,' Shamkhani said.

'But Trump, in the comments he makes against Iran, is trying to persuade everybody that whenever there is a problem in the region, Iran's name just pop up,' he added.

But in reality, what remains to be true and vital is that Iran has rushed to help all the countries in the region which have been in difficulty, he said.

The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council went on to refer to, as an example, what Iran did in Iraq and Syria to stop terrorism.

'Iran stood by the people in Syria and Iraq in their efforts to cleanse their countries from the Daesh (ISIS) terrorists,' Shamkhani said.

In this way, Iran demonstrated that it is a cause of stability, security and resistance, he added.
