Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Communications Rasim Ljajic described Iran as the major and strong Muslim country with the highest economic capacities, saying that his country has special programs for promoting all-out cooperation with Iran.

In a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari on Friday, he invited Iranian activists to invest in Serbia, saying that Belgrade will provide Iranian investors with maximum facilities.

Shariatmadari, for his part, referred to a remarkable increase in the number of Iranian tourists visiting Serbia after visa waiver procedure, voicing Tehran’s readiness for attracting Serbian tourists.

Exchanging tourists will help deepen bilateral ties in various fields, the Iranian minister, who is the Serbia to participate in the 15th Iran-Serbia Joint Economic Commission meeting said.

Highlighting the two countries’ diverse capacities in the economic fields such as energy, oil and mines, he said that banking cooperation between the two countries serves a prelude to utilizing those capacities.

Despite the Western states’ opposition, the two countries’ officials are determined to promote bilateral and multilateral relations, he said.
