Iran's Ehsan Haddadi produced a best effort of 68.18m to claim silver in the men's Discus Throw competition in the London 2012 Olympic Games .

The 27-year-old champion had earlier won Asian Games title twice, but his tonight silver was Iran's first ever medal in athletics in Olympic Games.

Robert Harting of Germany recorded 68.27m to pick up gold on another exciting night of action inside the Olympic Stadium.

Gerd Kanter of Estonia (68.03m) won bronze.

Iran's Greco-Roman wrestlers Hamid Sourian, Omid Haji Norouzi and Ghasem Gholamreza Rezaei and weightlifter Behdad Salimi Kordasiabi have so far won four gold medals for the country in the London Olympic Games.

Also, Iran's weightlifters Sajjad Anoushiravani Hamlabad and Navab Nasirshelal had earlier won silver medals and Kianoosh Rostami has also earned a bronze medal in the London Games.
