Salehi, who is heading a delegation, left Tehran on Tuesday afternoon. The meeting will kick off in Astana on September 12.
During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister will present the Islamic Republic's views on important regional and international issues as well as ways of resolving the existing challenges in the world.

Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia is a multinational forum for enhancing cooperation towards promoting peace, security and stability in Asia.
The idea of convening the CICA was first proposed by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev on 5 October 1992, during the 47th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
CICA has twenty four member states accounting for nearly ninety percent of the territory and population of Asia. Eight countries and three multinational organizations have the observer status.
