Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman said that the recent victory of the Palestinians in the 8-day-long Israeli war on Gaza made the Zionist regime fearful of following the same aggressive policies in future.

"This victory is a clear indication that the era of impudence and bullying of the Zionist regime, as the root of insecurity and aggression in the region, has come to an end and from now on, this regime cannot continue this aggressive trend by relying on its Western allies," Ramin Mehman-Parast said on Thursday.

He added that the triumph was the result of the resistance of the oppressed Palestinians, particularly the people in the besieged Gaza, against the Israeli regime's military aggression.

He lashed out at the international community for its silence about Israel's continued crimes and said that It has become a common practice for the Israeli regime to "commit criminal acts in the silence of organizations" that claim to defend human rights and under the auspices of the Western countries.

Also on Thursday, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili said in a statement that Israel's defeat shows the growing power of resistance.

A Cairo-mediated ceasefire agreement, which took effect on Wednesday, ended the Israeli attacks, which started on November 14, killing more than 165 Palestinians and injuring about 1,269 others.

On Wednesday, Egypt announced that the Israeli regime and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas had reached a ceasefire agreement.

Under the deal, the Palestinians and Israelis agreed to end all hostilities against each other. But the Israeli regime did not agree to lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
