During a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi on the sidelines of the 11th ministerial meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe, on Friday, he stated that meetings and negotiations between Kuwaiti and Iranian officials were greatly beneficial to the ties between Kuwait City and Tehran.
The senior Kuwait official noted that the relations between the two countries were based on mutual understanding, interaction and cooperation.
Salehi, for his part, demanded the further exchange of high-ranking delegations as well as continued interaction between Iranian and Kuwaiti authorities.
He also termed Tehran’s relations with Kuwait City as satisfactory, and called for the enhancement of trade and economic ties between the two nations.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Salehi pointed to the regional developments and emphasized the need for the resolution of the crisis in Syria through political means without foreign interference. Unrest has gripped Syria for over two years.
