The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has expressed its total readiness to cooperate with the administration of Iranian President-elect Hassan Rohani.

In a Sunday statement, the IRGC expressed “its all-out preparedness to interact and cooperate with the next administration within the framework of the assigned legal responsibilities and missions.”

The IRGC described the Iranian nation as the true winner of the election, and congratulated Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, “the noble Iranian nation” and Hojjatoleslam Rohani on the “great and momentous victory.”

The IRGC extended its gratitude to the Iranian nation for the high turnout in the Friday election, noting, “The magnificent, vigorous and enthusiastic participation of the people in the election and the creation of the political epic have opened a new chapter in the progressive movement of the Islamic Revolution and the country’s development.”

Nearly 50.5 million Iranians, including more than 1.6 million first-time voters, were eligible to participate in the June 14 presidential, and city and village council elections. The Interior Ministry put the voter turnout at 72.7 percent.

Rohani won 18,613,329 votes, or 50.7 percent of a total of 36,704,156 ballots counted, Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar announced on Saturday.

Rohani currently represents Ayatollah Khamenei in the Supreme National Security Council, and is a member of the Expediency Council and the Assembly of Experts. He is also director of the Expediency Council's Center for Strategic Research.
