Iran’s juniors’ national football team manager has said Russian tournament is a great place for learning lessons for juniors.

Ali Doustimehr told Mehr News that participation in tournament like that in Russia required supreme technical experience. “It is a great university for our players to learn from. Even if we won the trophy, we should exploit the lessons for future Asian events and World Cups,” he said, “the tournament has been held for years, and it has improved itself year by year, and definitely no mean national team is allowed to participate. Iran and Japan are the only Asian teams, and others are all European teams.”

Doustimehr believed that it was an advantage for teams to play five games where knocked-out teams gain very valuable experiences, especially for their young players.

He expressed hope that his team would optimally use the event. “Tournament by tournament, our technical staff becomes more experienced. 14 European teams are housed in our hotel and this means cultures meet.

The players would learn lessons outside the green rectangle, and inside it, their playing help shape their character and technical improvement as a professional,” Doustimehr believed.
