Iran has been drawn against Nigeria, Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Group F of the competitions.
Iran will play Nigeria in Curitiba on June 16.
“All three matches in group stage are important but we have to defeat Nigeria since it’s our opening match,” Ashkan Dejagah said.
Ashkan Dejagah scored a crucial winner to help Fulham to a much needed win over Newcastle United on Saturday.
Despite the positive result, the Cottagers remain four points adrift of safety in the Premier League table with eight matches left to play.
"We now have to fight for the rest of the season and take some more points. The whole of the team fought on Saturday – and the fans and the staff also played a big part. We're all together in this," Dejagah told the club's official website.
"We have to fight every week. We can't just play good football, you have to battle, and this is what the manager says to us every day. The team showed the manager and the fans against Newcastle that we're ready to fight together."
Fulham is back in Premier League action this Saturday when they make the trip to Manchester City.
Iran striker Ashkan Dejagah said that Iran must concentrate on beating Nigeria in the 2014 World Cup.
