"The main loser of the recent developments in Syria and Iraq is the Muslim Ummah (community) and I hope that we will see a revision in Turkey's policies on Syria," Boroujerdi said during the meeting.
He pointed to the recent developments in Iraq, and said, "Iran is against any foreign interference in Iraq and the Iraqi nation enjoys the ability to suppress the terrorists without any need to foreign intervention."
Meantime, Boroujerdi pointed to Tehran-Ankara relations, and said, "The Iran-Turkey relations set a model of brotherly ties for the Muslim world and such relations have and will always be in the interest of the Muslim Ummah.
The ambassador, for his part, underlined the importance of the development of close cooperation between the two countries, and said, "Iran and Turkey are two major powers of the Muslim world, and Turkey has always wanted expansion of friendly ties with Iran in all areas."
The Turkish envoy pointed to Iraq's development, and said, "Maintaining Iraq's territorial integrity is the pivot of Turkey's foreign policy."
Yardim also expressed his government's pleasure in the recent visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Turkey.
Last week, President Rouhani underlined that Tehran and Ankara have narrowed down their differences over many regional issues and are now in consensus over Iran's nuclear issue and the necessity for fight against extremism in the region.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran after returning from a two-day visit to Ankara, Rouhani said that he has conferred with the high-ranking Turkish officials on the regional issues, including the situation in Iraq and North Africa.
"The two governments are pursuing joint objectives in many regional issues but there are differences too and we should further work on common issues," he said.
Stressing that Iran and Turkey enjoy similar views on the nuclear issues, creation of a region free from the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) and campaign against extremism and division, Rouhani said, "At present, fighting extremism in our region is highly important."
