Iranian President Hassan Rouhani renewed Iran's support for the role of political dialogue in resolving regional problems and disputes.

Addressing a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Rouhani pointed to the regional developments, and said, “Continued stability in the region will favor all the regional countries and the Islamic Republic of Iran will do all it can to remove regional problems based on its humanitarian and religious duties."

He noted that political dialogue plays an important role in resolving the regional problems.

Meantime, President Rouhani pointed to the ongoing Israeli crimes against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and said, "Zionists crimes are not tolerable by anyone and Iranian people have always been on the scene."

Iran has long taken various diplomatic initiatives to expand its ties with the neighboring states.

Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 23 consecutive days, killing at least 1,260 people and injuring more than 7,000 others.
