The 5-member UN nuclear watchdog’s delegation, headed by the deputies of IAEA Chief Yukiya Amano, is planned to meet with a number of senior Iranian officials.
During their one-day visit, the delegation will hold talks with Iran’s permanent representative at the IAEA, as well as officials at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), AEOI Spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said.
The development came after Amano paid a one-day visit to Iran on Thursday and met with President Hassan Rouhani and SNSC Secretary Ali Shamkhani.
"The purpose of the visit was to advance work towards the resolution of all outstanding issues regarding Iran's nuclear program, including clarification of possible military dimensions," he said in a statement after the trip to Iran.
Amano's visit came as marathon talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (alternatively known as P5+1 or E3+3) are underway in Vienna, Austria, with the purposes of striking a lasting agreement on Tehran's nuclear energy program.
