In a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Monday, Araqchi discussed bilateral cooperation and international developments, with particular attention to the situation in West Asia and the aftermath of Israel’s military strike on Iranian territory.
Araqchi also held talks with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, where the two sides reviewed bilateral ties and exchanged views on regional and global issues. Araqchi used the occasion to condemn acts of aggression by Israel and the U.S., reaffirming Tehran’s position on defending its territorial integrity.
The meetings were held on the margins of the 17th BRICS summit, which convened on Sunday and Monday in the Brazilian city. In its final communiqué, the BRICS bloc issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli and U.S. military aggressions against Iran, calling them violations of international law and sovereignty.
