Speaking on Monday in Tehran before departing for Qatar to attend an emergency summit of heads of state of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League, Pezeshkian said the meeting, hosted at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, will address Israel’s “blatant aggression” carried out in violation of international law.

“The Zionist regime recognizes no boundaries or frameworks for its actions,” the president said, noting that it has attacked several Islamic countries, including Qatar, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, and Yemen.

“It does whatever it wants, and unfortunately, the United States and European countries support these actions,” he added.

Pezeshkian condemned Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, saying the regime has been killing women, children, and the elderly while receiving backing and supplies from Western states. “They give legitimacy to the actions of the apartheid Zionist regime,” he said.

The president expressed hope that the summit in Qatar would lead to tangible outcomes, particularly in holding Israel accountable through international legal forums.

“Islamic countries must enhance their unity and pursue these crimes at international and legal bodies,” he said.

Reiterating his call for a united front, Pezeshkian urged Muslim nations to sever all forms of cooperation with Israel.

“If Muslims act as one hand, they will not dare to invade our countries and trample on international laws,” he argued.

The emergency summit in Doha comes amid heightened regional tensions following Israeli strikes against leaders of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, in Doha on September 9, with leaders from across the Islamic world expected to deliberate joint responses.
