Iran’s Navy Chief: All Operational and Exercise Equipment Is Fully Indigenous

According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, he highlighted the Navy’s evolution from a purely operational force into a strategic—and now vital—component of Iran’s defense posture, noting that recent achievements, from the 86th flotilla’s presence in distant oceans to internationally recognized accomplishments, stem from the new generation of trained and specialized personnel who will shape the force’s future. He emphasized that this position is the result of more than four decades of continuous effort as well as the sacrifices of those who lost their lives in maritime missions.

The commander added that the participation of Iranian units in major international exercises, including the BRICS naval drill, demonstrates the strength of Iran’s maritime presence and reflects the deep connection between training and operational sectors, anchored in confidence in domestic capabilities.

He also pointed to the Navy’s successful escort operations in recent years, stating that Iran’s maritime reach now extends from the Strait of Hormuz to the depths of the oceans—a trajectory, he said, that will advance further through the capabilities of the country’s younger generation.
