India and Russia have stressed the need to resolve issues surrounding Iran’s nuclear program through dialogue, according to a joint statement released on Friday after talks between President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The statement, published by the Kremlin and cited by the TASS news agency, said both sides emphasized the importance of addressing the Iran nuclear question through peaceful discussion.

It also highlighted bilateral cooperation in trade, energy, transport, civilian nuclear projects and other sectors.
