Iran Airs First Hebrew-Language Documentary

Iran on Friday broadcast its first-ever Hebrew-language documentary, Missiles Over Bazan, presenting an in-depth analytical examination of what it describes as the covert confrontation between Iran and Israel in the energy sector.

According to KhabarOnline, an Iranian News Agency, The documentary aired on Ofogh TV at 7:00 p.m. Tehran time on Friday, December 12. It explores lesser-known dimensions of the 12-day war and the broader shadow conflict between Iran and Israel, with a particular focus on oil and gas infrastructure and its impact on regional power dynamics.

According to the producers, the film employs a documentary-analytical approach to illustrate how this concealed energy-related confrontation has contributed to shifts in the regional balance of power and influenced the course of the wider conflict.

Drawing on archival footage, verified data, expert assessments, and Hebrew-language narration, Missiles Over Bazan aims to offer a fresh perspective on what it portrays as a strategic rivalry between the two sides, underscoring the central role of energy infrastructure as a key arena in their ongoing covert struggle.

The documentary was initially released on YouTube; however, only hours after its publication, the platform removed the film in its entirety—an action Iranian sources described as indicative of support for the Israeli regime.

Missiles Over Bazan was produced and released by Tasnim News Agency, an Iranian domestic news outlet. The project is described as an unprecedented step in Iranian media production and a milestone in efforts to communicate directly with the Israeli public.

In parallel, Iran has launched additional initiatives aimed at Hebrew-language media outreach, including the establishment of new Hebrew-language news production and broadcasting platforms such as PressTV Hebrew.

Ahmad Norouzi, Deputy Chief of IRIB’s World Service, said in an official message delivered in Hebrew that during the recent conflict, “the Israeli regime imposed the highest level of censorship on Hebrew-language media. They fear public awareness of the realities, and PressTV Hebrew will expose the hidden truths.”
