Phone Call Between Iran and Yemen’s Acting Foreign Minister

Abdulwahid Aburas, the acting Foreign Minister of Yemen’s so-called Change and Development Government, held a phone conversation with Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to discuss the latest developments in Yemen, particularly in the country’s southern regions.

According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, During the call, Aburas briefed his Iranian counterpart on the recent situation in the south, describing the ongoing developments as “deliberate actions by Yemen’s adversaries and certain regional actors aimed at further destabilizing the area.” He warned that such measures could deepen the complexity of Yemen’s political landscape.

Araqchi, in response, praised the Yemeni people for their support of Palestinians and their resistance against Israeli aggression. He stressed the importance of safeguarding Yemen’s territorial integrity and national unity, urging all Yemeni factions to pursue internal dialogue to prevent “regional plans aimed at weakening or fragmenting Yemen.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister also welcomed the recent agreement between Yemeni parties and Saudi Arabia on prisoner exchanges. He emphasized that a sustainable resolution to Yemen’s prolonged crisis requires a complete lifting of the blockade, full implementation of the agreed road map, and Yemeni-Yemeni negotiations to form an inclusive government based on national unity.
