Iran, UAE Foreign Ministers Hold Phone Talks on Yemen Developments

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a telephone conversation on Sunday evening with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, as part of ongoing diplomatic consultations on the situation in Yemen.

According to KhabarOnlin, an Iranan news agency, During the call, the two sides reviewed the latest state of bilateral relations as well as regional developments. Both ministers expressed satisfaction with the growing ties between Tehran and Abu Dhabi and stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and following up on issues of mutual interest.

Referring to recent developments in southern Yemen, Iran’s foreign minister called for coordinated efforts by all regional countries to preserve Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity and to realize the legitimate demands of the Yemeni people. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran believes the solution to the Yemen crisis lies in inclusive Yemeni–Yemeni dialogue, based on the country’s national unity and territorial integrity.

For his part, the UAE foreign minister underscored the necessity of maintaining peace and stability in Yemen and the wider region, outlining his country’s measures aimed at de-escalation and support for stability in Yemen.

At the conclusion of the call, the foreign ministers of Iran and the UAE stressed the shared responsibility of regional countries to strengthen stability in Yemen and safeguard regional peace and security.

The conversation took place amid a series of recent telephone consultations by Iran’s foreign minister with his counterparts in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, as well as the acting foreign minister of Yemen’s Government of Change and Construction, all focusing on the need to preserve Yemen’s unity, advance political dialogue, and prevent efforts to destabilize or divide the country.
