Iran’s First Radar Satellite to Be Unveiled Soon

The head of Iran’s Space Organization said: “The country’s first radar satellite is being built by Saaian Space Group and will be unveiled soon.”

According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, "Hasan Salariyeh," head of Iran's Space Organization, stated in a gathering with reporters at Iran Electronic Industries (Saaian) while observing the images of the "Paya" satellite passing over Iran, said: "Since December 28th, when the Paya satellite, along with two other satellites, "Zafar" and "Kowsar," entered orbit, it has been performing regular and daily passes, with two passes per day and two passes at night. Communication with this satellite is established."

Salariyeh continued: "The satellite's orbital tests began from the initial hours after launch. All different subsystems and components of the satellite have been evaluated, and the satellite has entered the operational phase. This means that each subsystem's performance in orbit has been thoroughly verified."

The head of Iran's Space Organization added: "For a few days, the activation of the satellite's camera or main imaging payload has been underway. The received images have been acquired, and the calibration process and adjustment of the parameters related to the images of the satellite have begun. Also, the latest status of the received images shows that its performance in orbit is in a very ideal condition."

He stated: "The cooperation of the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Defense, and the Saaian Space Group in the space industry is a multi-year cooperation, and today we are witnessing the fruition of these collaborations. One of the most advanced satellites of the Saaian Space Group is fully performing its operations in orbit."

Salariyeh mentioned: "The cooperation between the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Defense, and the Saaian Space Group in the field of satellites is extensive, and several satellites have been built or are being built. We also had the "Pars 2" satellite, which was unveiled last year. The accuracy of the measurement and the imaging range of this satellite are higher and it is in the launch schedule."

The head of Iran's Space Organization emphasized: "The country's first radar satellite is being built by the Saaian Space Group and will be unveiled soon. After launch, its services will be observed. Also, numerous other projects are progressing in the field of satellite design and construction between the Iranian Space Research Institute and the Saaian Space Group."
