The company manufactures various X-ray generators and detectors, widely used in both industrial and medical radiography.
Focus on X-ray Technology for Industry
Badri Kooh emphasized that the company’s core expertise lies in the application of X-rays, particularly in industrial settings. "We are producers of X-ray generators with varying power capacities, ranging from low power to high power, which are used in a variety of applications," he explained.
Portable Radiography: A Novel Solution for Pipeline Inspection
One of the company’s standout products is the portable radiography system, designed for inspecting pipelines of various diameters, particularly in refineries. The system utilizes an X-ray generator that emits a uniform beam directed at the pipeline, with the resulting image captured by a flat-panel detector. If there are any defects such as cracks, corrosion, sedimentation, or blockages inside the pipe, they will be clearly visible in the image.
"Aside from pipeline inspection, this system is also used in quality control of welds and other non-destructive testing processes," Badri Kooh added. "It is widely employed in industries, laboratories, and quality control units."
Interdisciplinary Technology: Power Electronics, Software, and Mechanics
Badri Kooh explained that the technology behind these products is interdisciplinary, combining power electronics, software, and mechanics. "Multiple engineering teams collaborate simultaneously in the design and development processes of these products," he said.
Local Production of the Complete Portable Radiography System
Discussing the company’s position in the market, Badri Kooh pointed out that while there are domestic competitors in the production of X-ray generators, the complete portable radiography system—including the generator, detector, and image processing software—has been designed and manufactured for the first time in Iran by their company. "Foreign competitors mainly come from the U.S. and Italy," he added. "However, due to the recent entry into this field, we do not yet have any exports."
Cabinet Radiography: A Precise Solution for Industrial Parts Inspection
Another key product of the company is the cabinet radiography system, which is similar to the portable system but designed for laboratory use. This device is ideal for inspecting industrial parts, such as rings, steel, and aluminum components, as well as checking the quality of casting and manufacturing processes. For example, it can detect internal defects such as cracks, porosity, or structural issues in parts without causing any damage.
Smart Image Processing and Safety Features
In explaining how the cabinet radiography system works, Badri Kooh described the setup: "The X-ray generator is positioned on one side, with the detector on the opposite side, and the workpiece is placed on a movable table between them. After passing through the part, the X-ray beam is captured by the detector, and the final image is processed. Any internal defects are clearly visible in the image."
He further noted that, unlike portable systems that require operators to maintain a safe distance from radiation, the cabinet system is designed with complete safety in mind. "The unit is fully shielded with lead, ensuring that operators can use the system without concern for radiation exposure."
