Former Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa has called on Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to reestablish ties with the Islamic Republic, the Persian service of the Fars News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Moussa, who was Morsi’s rival in the 2012 Egyptian presidential election, said that he supports Morsi’s decision to travel to Iran in late August because it is a good opportunity to restore ties with the country, which has a strong economy and political influence in the region.
