Iran's three-year presidency over the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) will no doubt strengthen unity among countries with anti-arrogance tendencies, said an Iranian senior official.

The issue was raised during a meeting between Iranian first vice president Mohammad Reza Rahimi and the President of North Korean Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) Presidium Kim Yong Nam who arrived in Tehran this week to attend 16th heads-of-state summit of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

During Iran's 3-year presidency of NAM, cooperation among those countries with anti-arrogance tendencies will be strengthened, Rahimi said.

He, meantime, described relations between Iran and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) as expanding and called for further promotion of bilateral ties and cooperation in all fields.

Rahimi called for exchange of delegations between the two countries to help implement agreements signed by the two sides.

Current volume of trade exchange between the two countries is not satisfactory; Iranian first vice president said and called for more efforts and timely plans to increase the figure.

The DPRK official, for his part, called for expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

International developments require bolstering of relations between the two countries, he said, adding that Iran and DPRK share common stands in their struggle with tyrannical powers and are determined to remain committed to their lofty goals.

In relevant remarks after recent NAM summit in Tehran, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Kim Yong Nam underlined that Tehran and Pyongyang have common enemies due to their resistance against the arrogant powers.
