Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has criticized certain countries for their silence over a recent Israeli airstrike on Sudan.

Referring to the Israeli airstrike on an arms factory in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday that those who raised a ruckus about the Syrian crisis should now take a proportionate measure regarding the attack on the African country.

“Some countries which raised Cain over the Syrian issue and even suspended Syria’s membership in the Arab League, are now expected to take an active and suitable measure in the face of Tel Aviv’s blatant invasion of an important Arab League member [Sudan],” he added.

The Iranian diplomat further noted that by such acts, the Zionist regime of Israel aims to sow discord among Islamic countries and to cover up its insufficiencies in various fields.

Sudanese Minister of Information Ahmed Belal Osman said on Wednesday that four Israeli military planes had attacked a weapons factory in Khartoum earlier in the day.

He added that the aircraft hit the Yarmouk Complex, south of Khartoum, set off a huge blast and killed at least two people.

Sudan called on the United Nations Security Council to condemn the Israeli regime for violating the country’s sovereignty.
