Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei said Sunday that suspicious attempts are being made by certain Western states, Israel and one regional country to impair Iran-P5+1 talks in Moscow and sabotage its outcome.
Iran and the six world powers wrapped up their meeting in Baghdad on May 24 after two days of negotiations.
On Sunday, Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Baqeri said that the P5+1’s lack of readiness to implement the previous agreements has slowed down the progress of the talks.
He made the comments in a letter to EU's Deputy Secretary General for the External Action Service Helga Schmid.
“In his bilateral meeting with H.E. Lady [Catherine] Ashton on the sideline of Baghdad talks, H.E. Dr. [Saeed] Jalili touched upon this point and mentioned that your lack of preparation has caused the trend of the talks to be slowed down and even lead to standstill,” he said.
“Will the next round of talks be successful with or without having a clear provisional agenda and only having talks for the sake of talks? If the agreements made in each round of talks did not follow up properly by the deputies and experts, what kind of guarantee would it be for the success of the next round of talks?” Baqeri noted.
