“Every year, we are witnessing the growth of national production and the expansion of exports,” Massoud Movahhedi said in the opening ceremony of an exhibition featuring indigenous products in Tehran .
He added that the economic restrictions that the Western countries have imposed upon Iran have failed to hinder the country’s forward movement and have even spurred the Iranians to further progress.
Iran's foreign trade level is nearing “several hundred billion dollars”, thanks to its growing rate of exports, Movahhedi noted.
He said industrial items comprise around 60 percent of the country’s exports, adding that Iranian brands for various products are now gaining recognition and respect around the world.
In pharmaceuticals, Movahhedi emphasized, the country has succeeded to produce medicines that are entirely indigenous, and not foreign duplicates, even in their related research and development.
