50/50 Annual Juried Art Exhibition will display works by Parham Didehvar, Afsaneh Hezarkhani, Alireza Bidari, Arad Habibagahi, Bahar Pourpezeshk, Davoud Mantegh and Firouzeh Tangestanian.
Jamshid Tajdolat, Kamelia Pezeshki, Majid Nagahi, Maryam Hafizirad, Mehrdad Shoghi, Mina Momeni, Mohsen Joudi, Raha Mehraban, Sayeh Irankhah, Shafagh Azhandeh, Shamsi Shahrokhi, Taraneh Azadi and Shirin Aqdai are also among te Iranian artists whose works will be showcased during the event.
Visitors can also enjoy live music performed by Iranian percussionist Hamasseh Daneshzad, whose music combines elements of traditional Persian and classical Indian music.
Storyteller Ariel Balevi will also entertain visitors with a story from Persian mystic and poet Mowlavi’s Masnavi which is considered by many to be one of the greatest works of both Islamic mysticism and Persian literature.
Balevi has been performing in Toronto since 1999 as well as in festivals in Ottawa and Washington D.C. He has performed at various venues and events including Word on the Street, the Junction Arts Festival, Nuit Blanche, and the Toronto Storytelling Festival.
He also performed at 2008 and 2011 editions of the Persian cultural festival of Tirgan held at Toronto’s Harbourfront, and at events organized by the Iranian Association of the University of Toronto (IAUT).
