"The enemy is trying to maximize its pressures in a bid to create chaos in the country either in the (upcoming) election or before that, hoping to repeat the sedition of the post-2009 election," Mehman-Parast said, addressing several commanders and personnel of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base on Thursday.
He urged people from different walks of life to stage a massive turnout in the upcoming presidential election.
Earlier this month, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned that enemies have hatched plots to hinder mass-participation of the Iranian nation in the upcoming presidential election, describing it as the "tangible" goal of the enemies.
In September, the Iranian interior ministry announced that the country will hold the next presidential election on June 14, 2013.
Also in December, the ministry said that it has a close watch on all activities related to the upcoming presidential election throughout the country.
"We are monitoring (election) activities in all provinces and it is our routine mission," Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Law Enforcement Affairs Ali Abdollahi told FNA at the time.
"No security problem has so far been reported to us regarding the 2013 presidential election," he noted.
