Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that massive turnout in the May 19 elections will bring dignity for Iran in while observing ethics, Islamic code of conduct and law.

The Supreme Leader made the remarks in the graduation ceremony of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) cadets at Imam Hussain (as) University, in Tehran this morning.

'Enemy seeks to create tension and sedition to disrupt order and security,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

He added that election is a procedure that can lead the country to either more dignity or weakness and pools of problems.

“If people partake in the upcoming elections while completely observing order, ethics, Islamic boundaries and rule of the law, this will bring the country more dignity but if they break the law, perpetuate immorality or give hope to enemies in their words, then elections will be against our interest,” the Supreme Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei, also Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, said that enemies are seeking to disrupt order and security through triggering sedition and unrest in the country in short run.

He added that enemies are determined to ruin Iran’s national pride.

“We have succeeded to create a secure environment in a region filled with tensions and a world which is full of unrest. And this is what they want to take from us,” said the Leader.

“We will be able to thwart these plots if we be well prepared in dealing with the problem of creating insecurity and sedition,” Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.

“Those who ignore the country’s security, will definitely be slapped in the face,” the Leader added.
