During his visit to Turkey for the ECO Trade Ministers Meeting, Atabak met with Turkey's Minister of Trade Omer Bolat in Istanbul on Wednesday.
The Iranian minister emphasized the need to eliminate barriers to enhance economic collaboration.
He further described Turkey as a key trading partner for Iran and expressed optimism about the potential for significant growth in trade relations.
Atabak also said that trade between the two countries has the potential for a major leap, expressing hope that this goal will be achieved by resolving some minor obstacles.
Minister Bolat noted a 5% increase in trade volume between Turkey and Iran this year, which has now reached $8 billion.
He emphasized Turkey's commitment to strengthening trade ties with Iran based on their historical relationship and geographical proximity.
The discussions also involved reviewing various trade topics and reaching agreements to foster closer economic ties between the two nations.
