The administration is committed to improve the economic situation, President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday.

Speaking in a gathering of elites, intellectuals and war veterans of this northwestern province, he noted that the administration is committed to defend countryˈs nuclear rights and in the meantime remove illegal sanctions.

Sanctions have been already eased, he said, adding that partial removal of sanctions has decreased costs in various fields including shipping.

He called on people to help resolve economic problems and decrease budget dependence on oil revenues.

Spread of extremism and violence have frustrated the international community and that is why Iranˈs War Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) proposal was overwhelmingly approved in the UN, the President asserted.

He thanked support of the Supreme Leader and people for the nuclear negotiating team.

President Rouhani arrived in Ardebil Wednesday morning on a two-day visit.

This is Rouhani’s 7th such visit since assuming power in July 2013.
