President Raisi welcomes Belarus's Lukashenko for state visit

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has welcomed his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko for an official state visit.

The Belarusian president, who is heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation in his visit to Iran, was welcomed to Sa'dabad Palace in Tehran on Monday morning.

Following the official welcome ceremony, the Belarusian economic and political delegations were introduced to their Iranian counterparts.

The two presidents will hold talks at the historical and cultural complex of Sa'dabad in Tehran.

Lukashenko's visit to Tehran is being held to expand cooperation between Iran and Belarus and to discuss various industrial, agricultural, and transportation projects. The two sides will also review regional and international developments.

On the sidelines of the 16th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Lukashenko and Raisi ordered their foreign ministers to make all-out efforts to deepen and strengthen mutual ties.

On November 22, 2022, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko had traveled to Iran.
